UV, sun tints and photochromics
Seeing comfortably outdoors
Sun lenses cut brightness and block UV, so you can see comfortably outdoors. Every Torga sun lens is UV treated, and you can have your prescription in any of them.
Sun tints
The colour depends on how you use your lenses
Our lab tints lenses in grey, green, brown, rose, yellow and blue, from light to very dark, and as gradients that are darker at the top.
| Tint | What it is good for |
|---|---|
| Grey | The natural tint: true colours, for general use, driving and outdoor sport |
| Brown and amber | More contrast and depth perception: golf, tennis, fishing and sailing, anywhere you need to judge distance |
| Gradient | Dark at the top and light at the bottom: sun protection with a clear view of the dashboard |
A tint cuts brightness, not glare. Very dark tints are not suitable for driving, and no tinted lens is suitable for night driving.
Lenses that do more
Polarised lenses and lenses that darken in the sun
For glare
Polarised lenses
Only a polarised lens blocks glare, the harsh light that bounces off water and roads. They are made in your prescription and come in Polar T and NuPolar.
Polarised lensesClear indoors, darker outside
Photochromic lenses
Photochromic lenses are clear indoors and darker outside, so you do not have to change glasses as you go in and out. Flexi-Tint is made in our own lab, and we also offer Transitions.
