Make-up tips 'n tricks
Have fun with your make-up
Glasses change how your eyes look, and your make-up can work with them. Experiment with colour, and try these tips to make your make-up work its magic with your glasses.
The ten tips
Make-up that works with your frames
- Dark frames, bold lipsPair dark frames with bold lips, in red or burgundy, for a striking look.
- Don't neglect your browsYour glasses frame your eyes, but your eyebrows frame your glasses.
- Line up the flickLine up the flick of your cat-eye with the top corner of your glasses, for symmetry.
- Prime firstGlasses can slide down a little when your skin is oily. An eyeshadow primer before your other make-up can help.
- Soften the shadowFrames can cast a shadow under your eyes. A yellow-toned concealer can counter it.
- Choose matte shadowsMatte shadows help to soften your eyes through the lenses.
- Match your coloured framesColoured frames look even better when they are coordinated with your make-up.
- Volume, not lengthA volumising mascara, rather than a lengthening one, helps to prevent smudging on your lenses.
- Curl your lashesAn eyelash curler can keep your lashes from touching your lenses.
- Bigger frames, bigger canvasThe bigger your frames, the more of a canvas you have to work with. Treat your eyes as a work of art.
Make-up and your lenses
Keep your lenses clear
Clean lenses
If make-up gets on your lenses, rinse them in cold water, wash with a drop of dishwashing liquid and dry with a clean microfibre cloth.
Wearing contact lenses?
Put your lenses in before you apply make-up, and take them out before you remove it.
